Javid Dar reviews compensation cases for families affected by Rohama–Ladoora road project

Baramulla: Minister for Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperative and Election Department Javid Ahmad Dar on Tuesday reviewed compensation cases involving 26 families whose residential and commercial structures are likely to be affected by the proposed Rohama–Ladoora road project.

According to an official statement, the meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, tehsildars, the concerned Executive Engineer and other senior officers.

The Minister reviewed the status of the affected structures and the progress of the assessment process. He directed the concerned officers to conduct on-the-spot inspections and complete the valuation of all affected structures at the earliest.

Dar also instructed the Revenue authorities to verify the land status of each affected property to ensure that all eligible families receive compensation in accordance with the prescribed rules.

Emphasising the need to balance infrastructure development with public welfare, the Minister directed the district administration to expedite the necessary formalities so that compensation cases are processed without unnecessary delay.

The Deputy Commissioner assured the Minister that the assessment and procedural formalities would be completed promptly and that all eligible beneficiaries would receive compensation in accordance with the applicable norms, the statement added.
