Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday met separate delegations and individuals who apprised him of various public, developmental and cultural initiatives.
According to an official statement, a delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Front (PDF), led by its president and former minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen, raised several issues concerning Budgam district, including reopening of Tosamaidan, allowing night halts for tourists at Doodhpathri, reopening of the Bugroo–Raithan–Mujpathri–Doodhpathri road and improvement of water supply in the Humhama area.
In another meeting, Adv. Jehanzeb Allaqaband, founder of The Kashmir Conclave, and Mian Yaseen, founder of the Kashmir AI & Creator Summit (KACS), briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the proposed framework for the upcoming Kashmir Conclave and the Kashmir AI & Creator Summit.
The Lieutenant Governor also met sociologist and cultural researcher Dr Suheel Rasool Mir, who apprised him of initiatives aimed at documenting, preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir. According to the statement, Dr Mir discussed his work on the Shina Cultural Centre at Gurez, the Pahari Cultural Centre at Karnah and the Shina-Dard Cultural Centre at Darchik.
Dr Mir also presented the Lieutenant Governor with the inaugural edition of Shinon Meeras Dard Heritage Magazine and his book, Voices Across the Pir Panjal, the statement added.
