Srinagar Police reiterates assistance measures for Amarnath pilgrims

Srinagar: Srinagar Police on Sunday said it has put in place comprehensive security, traffic and facilitation arrangements to ensure the safe and smooth movement of pilgrims undertaking the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra through the district.

According to a police statement, personnel deployed along the Yatra route are providing round-the-clock assistance, including traffic regulation, medical aid, guidance to pilgrims and support to senior citizens, women and children.

Police said special emphasis has been laid on maintaining law and order, ensuring the smooth movement of Yatra convoys and providing prompt assistance during emergencies.

The statement said assistance booths, help desks and emergency response teams have been established at strategic locations to facilitate pilgrims during the pilgrimage.

Srinagar Police also said communication systems have been strengthened to provide timely traffic advisories, weather updates and other important information.

Pilgrims have been advised to rely only on official information issued by the administration and police and to avoid acting on unverified messages circulating on social media, the statement added.
