BUDGAM: A youth was killed after the motorcycle he was riding skidded off the road and crashed into an electric pole in the Chadoora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday, officials said.

According to officials, the rider lost control of the motorcycle, which skidded off the road before ramming into the electric pole. He sustained critical injuries in the accident.

The injured youth was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The identity of the deceased had not been established at the time of filing this report.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated proceedings to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident. Further details are awaited.
