ANANTNAG: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Friday visited the Nunwan Base Camp and other facilities along the Pahalgam axis of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra to review arrangements and inspect facilities during the departure of the first batch of pilgrims.
Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, Chief Executive Officer, Pahalgam Development Authority, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, SDM Pahalgam and other senior officers, Garg inspected the frisking point, Nunwan Base Camp, Hikers Park and the Club to assess the preparedness of departments.
The Divisional Commissioner reviewed the functioning of frisking points, eKYC verification and RFID registration counters, besides assessing the overall pilgrim facilitation system. He also interacted with pilgrims to obtain first-hand feedback on the services being provided.
Directing officers to maintain close coordination, Garg stressed the need for efficient, hassle-free arrangements and the availability of all essential facilities, with special emphasis on the safety, comfort and convenience of pilgrims throughout the Yatra.
Taking note of the heavy influx of unregistered pilgrims, he instructed officials to streamline the on-the-spot registration process to minimise waiting time and ensure proper guidance and assistance for devotees seeking registration.
At Hikers Park, the Divisional Commissioner reviewed the token-based RFID registration system, while at the Club he inspected the on-the-spot RFID registration and eKYC updation process. Appreciating the efforts of the RFID teams, he directed officials to ensure timely completion of the daily registration quota.
Noting that a large number of pilgrims are expected in the coming days, Garg directed all departments to keep arrangements fully functional and responsive to ensure a safe, smooth and convenient pilgrimage experience.
