BUDGAM: Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Abdul Rahim Rather on Thursday inaugurated a laparoscopy machine and a digital X-ray machine at the Sub-District Hospital, Charar-i-Sharief, aimed at strengthening healthcare services in the area.

Speaking on the occasion, Rather said the advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment would improve access to timely healthcare for residents of Charar-i-Sharief and adjoining areas by reducing the need to travel to other hospitals for specialised services.

He said the government remains committed to strengthening the public healthcare system by upgrading health institutions with modern equipment and improved infrastructure to ensure efficient and affordable treatment.

The Speaker said the laparoscopy machine would facilitate minimally invasive surgical procedures, while the digital X-ray machine would enhance the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities.

Rather also appreciated the efforts of the Health Department and the hospital administration in augmenting healthcare facilities and urged the medical and paramedical staff to ensure optimum utilisation and proper maintenance of the newly installed equipment for the benefit of patients.
