Authorities urge Amarnath pilgrims to travel only on registered dates

JAMMU: The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra authorities have advised pilgrims to undertake the pilgrimage only on their allotted dates, stating that the daily number of pilgrims permitted on the Yatra route has been capped in compliance with directions of the Supreme Court.
In an advisory, the authorities said advance registration had been opened well before the commencement of the Yatra through designated bank branches and online platforms, and most pilgrims had already completed the process.
The advisory noted that Tatkal (on-the-spot) registration slots are extremely limited and urged devotees to travel to Jammu and Kashmir only after securing advance registration.
It said pilgrims arriving without registration cannot all be accommodated under the Tatkal facility and would have to wait for their allotted turn before undertaking the pilgrimage.
The authorities also observed that some registered pilgrims were arriving before their scheduled travel dates and clarified that no pilgrim would be permitted to proceed before the date mentioned in the registration.
Pilgrims who have reached Jammu and Kashmir without registration have been requested to wait for their turn, with the administration assuring that every registered devotee would get an opportunity to undertake the Yatra in accordance with the prescribed procedure and the permitted daily capacity.
The administration appealed to all pilgrims to maintain discipline and cooperate with the authorities to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
