Jammu: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday reviewed the arrangements at the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu ahead of the commencement of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.
During the visit, the Lieutenant Governor assessed logistics, accommodation, security arrangements, healthcare facilities, help desks, sanitation, power and water supply, emergency response systems and other essential services put in place for pilgrims.
He directed officials to strengthen manpower deployment to efficiently manage the expected influx of devotees and stressed the need for regular public announcements at Bhagwati Nagar and the Tawi Riverfront to ensure yatris receive timely information.
The Lieutenant Governor also interacted with pilgrims and wished them a safe, peaceful and spiritually fulfilling journey.
The 57-day Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra will commence on July 3 simultaneously from the Pahalgam and Baltal base camps and conclude on August 28, 2026. The Lieutenant Governor will flag off the first batch of pilgrims from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas on July 2.
The visit was attended by Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, Special Director General of Police (Coordination) S.J.M. Gillani, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, IGP Jammu Bhim Sen Tuti, IGP CRPF Jammu Sector Amol V. Homkar, IGP Traffic M. Suleman Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Rakesh Minhas, Jammu Municipal Commissioner Devansh Yadav and senior officers from the civil administration, police and security forces.
