Srinagar: More than 4.49 lakh stakeholders participated in the fourth round of mass Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) organised across the Kashmir Valley on Monday, according to the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK).
The Valley-wide exercise was conducted in accordance with the academic calendar for the 2026 session, with 5,333 PTM events held simultaneously in government schools across the division.
Official figures showed that 4,49,141 stakeholders participated in the meetings, including 3,10,890 students, 1,05,673 parents and community members, and 32,578 teachers and school heads.
The meetings provided a platform for interaction between parents and teachers on students’ academic performance, behaviour and overall well-being, while also enabling parents to raise concerns and offer suggestions regarding school functioning.
Senior officials, including Chief Education Officers (CEOs), monitored the meetings across districts, interacted with parents and reviewed issues raised during the sessions.
Director School Education Kashmir Naseer Ahmad Wani thanked parents, teachers and community members for their participation and described the response as an indication of growing cooperation between schools and local communities. He directed officers and teaching staff to act on the feedback and suggestions received during the meetings to improve educational outcomes and strengthen accountability.
The Directorate said the mass PTMs are aimed at promoting community participation and enhancing collaboration between schools and parents in the education process.
