Budgam: Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather on Saturday visited Dreygam in Budgam district to review ongoing and proposed development works at the revered Ziyarat of Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani and interact with local residents.
During the visit, the Speaker took feedback from people regarding developmental needs and assured that genuine concerns raised by them would be taken up on priority.
Abdul Rahim Rather said development and beautification works worth around ₹40 lakh have already been approved for the shrine, with tenders floated and execution expected to begin shortly.
The locals also raised demands for construction of a protection wall around the shrine and improving connectivity between the Eidgah park and the shrine for easier access.
Later, the Speaker visited Nallah Shaliganga, where residents highlighted the long-pending demand for construction of a bridge at Reshweni-Tilwandaji near the playground to improve connectivity in the area.
Taking note of the demand, Rather directed the concerned officers to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed bridge at the earliest.
He said the bridge would improve connectivity, facilitate smoother movement for residents and benefit people living in the surrounding areas.
The Speaker also visited Banderpora and Kremshore villages, where he met local delegations and listened to their issues. He assured residents that their genuine grievances would be examined and addressed through appropriate action.
Reiterating his commitment towards public welfare, Abdul Rahim Rather said sustained efforts would continue to ensure overall development of the area and timely resolution of people’s concerns.
