During the meeting, SSP Reasi presented a detailed overview of the existing security grid and arrangements put in place across Katra town, the Yatra track, and the Holy Shrine. The discussions covered deployment of security personnel, CCTV surveillance, emergency response mechanisms, and coordination among various agencies.

Special emphasis was laid on securing vulnerable areas, including hilly terrains, high ridges, and sensitive locations along the Katra-Bhawan route. DIG Sharma directed intensified surveillance and strategic deployment of forces at dominating heights and critical points to ensure effective area control and prevent any security threats.

Reviewing the overall deployment plan, the DIG stressed the need for adequate coverage along the entire Yatra route to ensure the safety of pilgrims. He directed security agencies to strengthen random checking points, increase vehicle inspections, conduct joint long-range patrols by J&K Police and CRPF, enhance foot patrolling, carry out area domination exercises, activate Village Defence Guards, and maintain continuous monitoring of vulnerable zones.

The DIG also underlined the importance of efficient crowd management to facilitate smooth pilgrim movement and prevent incidents such as stampedes, sabotage attempts, or emergencies. He instructed all agencies to ensure availability of sufficient manpower, emergency response teams, communication facilities, and medical support throughout the pilgrimage route.

Regular inspection and verification of hotels, lodges, guest houses, and homestays were also highlighted as key security measures.

Emphasising the importance of seamless coordination and intelligence sharing among all stakeholders, DIG Sharma called for swift response mechanisms to tackle any emerging challenges.

The meeting concluded with all participating agencies reaffirming their commitment to maintaining a secure, peaceful, and devotee-friendly environment for pilgrims visiting the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Holy Shrine.
