Srinagar: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, on Thursday reviewed the progress of various Jal Shakti sector projects being executed in Pampore constituency and directed officers to ensure early operationalisation of near-complete schemes.
The review meeting was held at the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar, and was attended by MLA Pampore Hasnain Masoodi, Director Finance, Jal Shakti Department; Director Planning, Jal Shakti Department; Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Division Pulwama; Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti Department Awantipora/Pulwama, Irrigation Division Pulwama and Ground Water Division Srinagar.
During the meeting, the Minister asked officers to explore all possible measures for commissioning projects that are at an advanced stage of completion but are pending due to minor works.
He stressed that these projects should be made functional at the earliest so that the intended benefits reach the people without further delay.
Emphasising timely execution of works, Rana directed the concerned officers to resolve pending land compensation cases in a time-bound manner to prevent delays in developmental projects.
The Minister also reviewed works being undertaken under the AMRUT scheme for Pampore town and stressed the need to maintain quality standards while ensuring completion within the stipulated timelines.
Reviewing flood management measures in the constituency, Rana directed authorities to strengthen flood protection works well before the rainy season and ensure all preventive measures are in place to minimise inconvenience to the public.
He underlined the importance of close coordination among stakeholder departments for effective implementation of schemes and reiterated the government’s commitment towards improving drinking water facilities and flood protection infrastructure in Pampore.
The Minister also directed officers to ensure judicious utilisation of available resources and prevent lapse of funds under any scheme, stressing that optimum use of allocated resources is essential for achieving developmental goals.
