Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has appointed two senior IAS officers as nodal officers for the smooth conduct of the annual Amarnath Ji Yatra, according to an official order.

As per an order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Youth Services and Sports Department, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, has been designated as the nodal officer for the Pahalgam axis of the pilgrimage.

Managing Director of the Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation (JKPDC), Rahul Yadav, who is also holding additional charge as Managing Director of the Jammu and Kashmir Power Corporation Limited (JKPCL), has been appointed as the nodal officer for the Baltal axis.

The order said the officers will discharge the responsibility in addition to their existing duties.

“They shall closely monitor and liaise with all concerned agencies involved in the conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026 and shall report to the Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, on a regular basis,” the order stated.
