The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioners, Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Director AYUSH, Director SKICC and senior officers from various departments, including Health, School Education, Sports Council, Fire and Emergency Services and Traffic Police.

Reviewing the preparations, the Divisional Commissioner directed the AYUSH Department to ensure timely distribution of yoga mats and T-shirts among participants. He also asked the Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and Deputy Director Planning to prepare a comprehensive transportation plan for the smooth movement of participants to the venue.

Deputy Commissioners briefed the meeting on district-level arrangements, including yoga sessions at tourist destinations and other iconic locations, as well as live streaming of the main event across all districts.

Garg also reviewed logistical arrangements at SKICC, including installation of public address systems, LED display screens, instructor platforms, drinking water facilities, sanitation measures and distribution of refreshments after the event.

To ensure proper documentation of Yoga Day activities, he directed heads of educational institutions to register on the AYUSH Department portal and upload photographs of programmes conducted under International Yoga Day.

The Divisional Commissioner further instructed all departments to facilitate live streaming of the Prime Minister’s Yoga Day address and stressed the need for effective inter-departmental coordination to ensure smooth conduct of celebrations across the Valley.
