Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in separate operations across Anantnag, Sopore and Pulwama districts, recovering heroin and charas-like substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Tuesday.
He said in Anantnag, police arrested Arshad Ahmad Sofi, resident of Kanelwan, in the Bus Stand area. Heroin was recovered from his possession.
At Hib Dangerpora Crossing in Sopore, police arrested Aamir Nazir Tantray of Gund Brath, Sopore, after cannabis-like substance was recovered from him.
In Pulwama, Umar Farooq Lone of Nehama was arrested after 1.53 kilograms of cannabis-like substance (Bhung Boosa) was recovered from a nylon bag abandoned by him while attempting to flee.
Cases have been registered for investigation in all these instances.
