Addressing the gathering, Dar said sports contribute significantly to the holistic development of youth and help create a healthy and productive society. He noted that games teach discipline, perseverance, teamwork and the ability to face challenges with courage and determination.

Highlighting the social and psychological benefits of sports, he said active participation in games promotes physical fitness, mental well-being and social cohesion while encouraging fair play, mutual respect and healthy competition.

The Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening sports infrastructure and creating more opportunities for aspiring athletes, particularly in rural areas. He stressed the need to nurture sporting talent at the grassroots level to build a vibrant sports culture and help young achievers excel at higher levels.

Congratulating the winning team, Dar applauded both finalists for their sportsmanship and competitive spirit. He also commended the organisers of the Soin Premier League for providing a platform to showcase local talent and promote community engagement through sports.

Later, the Minister interacted with the public at Behrampora and Sopore, where residents raised issues related to the upgradation of playgrounds, installation of ATM facilities and other developmental works.

Assuring the public of prompt action, Dar said all genuine concerns and developmental demands would be addressed in a time-bound manner.
