Jammu: Police on Friday attached a residential property worth about Rs 53 lakh in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, officials said.
Police said the action was taken under the Act following a financial investigation conducted in connection with cases registered at Kishtwar Police Station against Muzaffer Hussain and Mudassir Hussain, both sons of Mehraj-ud-Din.
Kishtwar SSP Naresh Singh said the investigation revealed that a residential house measuring six marlas had allegedly been acquired from proceeds generated through illicit narcotics trafficking.
The attachment proceedings were carried out by a police team led by the station house officer (SHO) of Police Station Kishtwar in the presence of an executive magistrate and under the supervision of the deputy superintendent of police (headquarters), Kishtwar. (PTI)
