Younger Sister of Senior Journalist Karamat Qayoom Passes Away

Baramulla: The younger sister of senior journalist and Chairman of the Baramulla Working Journalists Association (BWJA), Karamat Qayoom, passed away after a brief illness at her residence in Noor Colony Ushkara area of Baramulla.

The deceased, wife of Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, was laid to rest at her ancestral graveyard in Noor Colony Ushkara, where a large number of people participated in the funeral prayers. People from different walks of life, including members of social, political, religious and media organisations, gathered to offer condolences and express solidarity with the bereaved family.

A delegation of the Baramulla Working Journalists Association (BWJA), led by its General Secretary Umar Rashid and accompanied by senior journalists Irshad Ahmad Bhat, Majeed Sheeri and Reyaz Rashid, visited the bereaved family to convey heartfelt sympathies and prayers for the departed soul.

The North Kashmir Journalists Association (NKJA), Press Club Gulmarg and several other organisations also expressed deep sorrow over the demise and extended condolences to Karamat Qayoom and the bereaved family, praying for eternal peace to the departed and strength to the family to bear the irreparable loss.

Meanwhile, the management and staff of Kashmir Images also expressed profound grief over the demise and conveyed heartfelt condolences to senior journalist Karamat Qayoom and his family. They prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the bereaved family to endure the loss.
