The programme began with a ceremonial Guard of Honour presented by NCC cadets, followed by cultural performances showcasing the traditions and diversity of various states and union territories under the theme of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.”

Addressing the gathering, Satish Sharma welcomed the participants to Jammu and Kashmir and praised the discipline and enthusiasm displayed by the cadets.

He said the National Cadet Corps has emerged as one of the country’s most influential youth organisations, contributing towards shaping responsible and patriotic citizens.

“Camps like SNIC provide youth an opportunity to experience the cultural diversity of India while fostering brotherhood, unity and national pride,” the Minister said.

He described youth as ambassadors of peace, harmony and progress and stressed their role in nation-building.

Recalling his personal connection with the armed forces as the son of a soldier, Satish Sharma lauded the role of NCC in instilling discipline, leadership and selfless service among young people.

The Minister urged cadets to uphold the ideals of integrity, discipline and social responsibility and encouraged them to actively participate in developmental initiatives.

Highlighting the growing menace of drug abuse, he called upon NCC cadets to become ambassadors against drugs and spread awareness regarding healthy lifestyles and constructive social engagement.

He also appreciated the proposed “NCC Unity Run – Run with Pride, Run for India” scheduled to be held at Nishat on May 24, saying such activities promote fitness, patriotism and unity among youth.

Earlier, Major General Anupinder Bevli highlighted the importance of the camp in promoting cultural exchange and national integration and appreciated the support extended by the Army and associated agencies for successful conduct of the event.

The participants described the camp as a memorable experience that strengthened their understanding of India’s cultural diversity and spirit of national unity.
