Srinagar: Police in Pulwama, in coordination with the Agriculture department official (Fertilizer Inspector), have registered a case under the Essential Commodities Act against an individual for unauthorized storage of fertiliser in the district.

During checking and verification at Parigam, a huge quantity of urea fertiliser was found stored inside a godown. During enquiry, the owner of the fertiliser was identified as Fayaz Ahmad Magray of Kaisermullah Chadoora, a police spokesperson informed Thursday.

He said upon verification, the owner failed to produce any valid licence or authorised documents regarding the storage and possession of the fertiliser.

Acting on the matter, a case (FIR No. 93/2026) under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pulwama. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
