DC Kulgam reviews arrangements for SANJY-2026

Kulgam: Deputy Commissioner Shahzad Alam on Thursday reviewed preparedness and arrangements for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026 in the district.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner assessed arrangements related to security, sanitation, healthcare facilities, traffic management, drinking water supply, electricity, accommodation and emergency response mechanisms to ensure a smooth and hassle-free pilgrimage for devotees.

Officials from various departments briefed the chair about measures being undertaken for facilitating yatris during the yatra period.

Emphasising coordinated efforts among departments, the Deputy Commissioner directed officers to ensure timely completion of all arrangements and maintain close inter-departmental coordination for effective service delivery.

He stressed the need for adequate sanitation facilities, uninterrupted essential services, proper traffic regulation and availability of healthcare and emergency response teams at designated locations for the convenience and safety of pilgrims.

Shahzad Alam further instructed officers to remain vigilant and proactive in addressing issues so that all required arrangements are put in place well before the commencement of the yatra.
