Srinagar: A delegation of volunteers from Gujarat-based social organisation Vishwagram Trust led by its founder Sanjay Bhavsar called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Lok Bhavan in Srinagar on Monday.
The delegation briefed the lieutenant governor about its ongoing community outreach programmes in border villages of the Uri sector in Baramulla district.
The volunteers shared details regarding their interaction with local youth and students and highlighted various creative activities being conducted in border schools.
These initiatives include workshops in filmmaking, music, arts and crafts, toy making and interactive educational games.
The lieutenant governor appreciated the volunteers and the trust for their outreach efforts and interventions in border areas.
During the interaction, Manoj Sinha also spoke about the developmental transformation witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir in recent years across different sectors.
He highlighted various flagship initiatives including Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan, the Vibrant Villages Programme and other socio-economic programmes being implemented in the Union Territory.
