The Commissioner described self-enumeration as a major citizen-centric initiative being introduced for the first time in the history of the Indian Census, enabling residents to provide information from the comfort of their homes.

He said the initiative has been designed to promote ease, transparency and efficiency in the census exercise while strengthening public outreach and supporting welfare-oriented planning.

Appealing to the public, Faz Lul Haseeb urged residents to actively participate in the self-enumeration process within the stipulated timeframe and cooperate with the administration for smooth conduct of Census 2027.
