Addressing the gathering, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha extended greetings to the people of Sikkim on the occasion.

Describing Sikkim as the sacred land of Guru Padmasambhava, the Lieutenant Governor said the Himalayan state is globally recognised as a model of organic farming, peace and spirituality.

He said Sikkim’s linguistic diversity and rich cultural heritage distinguish it on the world stage.

The Lieutenant Governor said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sikkim is achieving new milestones in development and contributing significantly towards the nation’s progress.

Highlighting the spirit of national unity, Manoj Sinha said the emotional bond shared among Indian states and Union Territories is rooted in the values of unity, compassion and brotherhood.

He also referred to the July 2022 horticulture agreement between Jammu and Kashmir and Sikkim, saying the collaboration has strengthened interaction among youth, farmers and researchers of both regions.

The Lieutenant Governor termed the partnership an example of the “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” vision and said such cooperation would help realise the goal of a “Viksit Bharat”.

He prayed for continued progress, prosperity and well-being of the people of Sikkim and appreciated the state’s achievements in sustainable development and organic farming.
