Tangmarg: A journalist associated with Early Times Jammu was injured after a rotten tree fell on him in the Tangmarg area of Baramulla district on Thursday evening.
The injured has been identified as Obaid Malik, son of Bashir Ahmad Malik and a resident of Kreeri Tangmarg.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 6 pm when Obaid Malik was travelling on his motorcycle near Darul Uloom Qazipora.
A rotten Cairo tree suddenly fell on him, causing serious injuries.
Locals immediately shifted him to Sub-District Hospital Tangmarg, where doctors referred him to Government Medical College Baramulla for advanced treatment.
Residents said several rotten trees are present along the Tangmarg TCP to Hospital Road stretch and alleged that repeated requests had been made to the Forest Department for their removal.
Following the incident, locals demanded immediate cutting of dangerous trees to prevent further accidents.
