Officials informed that four specialised teams comprising personnel from the Revenue, Police, RDD, SDRF, Fire & Emergency Services, IFC and PWD departments have been designated to conduct a detailed physical audit of the entire route from Nunwan Base Camp up to the Holy Cave.

Each team has been assigned a specific jurisdiction to ensure a comprehensive assessment of ground conditions as part of the district administration’s preparations for the Yatra.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasised the importance of meticulously documenting every detail along the track, including the structural condition of pathways and the placement of utility points.

He directed the teams to assess the possible impact of seasonal weather on the terrain and verify the readiness of sites designated for medical camps, shops, tents, langars and emergency shelters during the Yatra period.

Dr. Bilal also directed officials to organise proper training sessions for the deputed teams so that assigned tasks are carried out with precision and efficiency.

The advance teams have been tasked with identifying flash flood-prone zones and adjoining buffer areas besides earmarking safe locations for pitching tents and establishing shops, langars and security camps.

They will also conduct vulnerability mapping by physically marking fragile and unsafe zones to ensure that no establishments are allowed at such locations.

Further, the teams were asked to submit a scientific layout plan for various establishments to ensure a safe, seamless and congestion-free Yatra for pilgrims.

Officials said the data collected by the advance parties will serve as an important reference for deployment of resources and arrangements aimed at ensuring a safe and smooth Yatra experience.
