DC visits fire victims at GMC Anantnag, assures support

Anantnag: Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat on Tuesday visited Government Medical College Anantnag and met the victims who sustained burn injuries in a fire incident at a seminary in the main town during the intervening night of May 11 and 12.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Administrative Officer GMC, Tehsildar Anantnag, Medical Superintendent Associated Hospital GMC and other concerned officials.

During the visit, the DC interacted with the injured persons and enquired about their health condition, recovery and the treatment being provided to them.

He directed the medical staff to ensure the best possible healthcare facilities and proper medical attention for the injured so that they recover at the earliest.

Dr. Bilal expressed sympathy with the affected families and assured them of all possible support from the district administration.

He also prayed for eternal peace to the soul of the victim who lost his life in the tragic incident and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner inspected various sections of the hospital and interacted with patients and attendants to assess the quality of healthcare services being provided.

He enquired about the availability of essential medicines, punctuality of medical staff and overall patient care facilities in the hospital.

The DC stressed that providing seamless and patient-friendly healthcare remained a top priority for the district administration and directed the GMC authorities to maintain high standards of patient care and ensure that no patient faced any inconvenience.
