GANDERBAL: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) Ganderbal organised volleyball and kabaddi competitions for boys and girls across all four zones of the district under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan.
The competitions were held in the zones of Kangan, Ganderbal, Hariganwan and Tulmullah and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students.
Officials said the events were organised with the objective of promoting sportsmanship, teamwork and physical fitness among youth while engaging students in constructive activities and spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer Ganderbal Sheikh Shafqat Iqbal appreciated the active participation of students and the efforts of field staff in successfully organising the competitions.
He emphasised the importance of sports in encouraging a healthy, disciplined and drug-free lifestyle among young people.
The programme concluded with participants spreading the message of fitness, awareness and social responsibility.
