A statement issued here today said that the case stems from a complaint lodged by residents of Pulwama, alleging that the accused had fraudulently collected lakhs of rupees on the pretext of securing government jobs for their children and relatives.

During the investigation, officials found that the accused, acting in criminal conspiracy, impersonated influential officials and issued forged appointment orders purportedly from the Forest Department, which were later confirmed to be fake. The accused allegedly accepted payments in cash under the guise of providing “backdoor entry” into government services.

Following completion of the investigation, the challan has been presented before the competent court for judicial determination.

Police have advised the general public to remain vigilant against such fraudsters and report any suspicious activities. Victims of fraud have also been urged to approach the SSP Special Crime Wing Kashmir or share complaints via the official email for necessary action.
