GoC reviews security situation, troops preparedness in Jammu

Jammu:  General Officer Commanding (GOC) White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General P K Mishra, on Thursday reviewed the prevailing security environment and assessed the operational preparedness of troops deployed in the Jammu region, officials said.

The Army commander, accompanied by the GOC Crossed Swords division, visited the general area of Kachriyal in Jammu, where he was briefed on the security situation and readiness of forces on the ground, they said.

“GoC White Knight Corps, along with GOC Crossed Swords Division, visited the general area of Kachriyal to review the prevailing security environment and assess operational preparedness “, White Knight Corps said on X.

He said that the visit was followed by an inspection of the general area of Counter Insurgency Force (CIF) Romeo, where Lt Gen Mishra was apprised of forward deployments, the counter-terrorism grid, intelligence framework and coordination with other security agencies across the respective areas of responsibility.

During the visit, the GOC interacted with troops and appreciated innovative initiatives aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness.

He also commended the soldiers for their vigilance, high morale and steadfast dedication towards safeguarding the nation under challenging conditions, the officials said.
