The injured were shifted to District Hospital Shopian, where one of them succumbed to injuries. The deceased has been identified as Saurabh Singh, while the injured have been identified as Dileep Kumar and Ram Kumar. All three are residents of Aligarh in Uttar Pradesh.

Sources said the trio was engaged in repair work at the facility when the explosion took place. The condition of the two injured persons was not immediately known.

A steam boiler in such units is used for heating and pressure regulation and operates under high temperature and pressure, making it hazardous if not handled properly during operation or repair.

The cause of the blast is being investigated.
