Jammu: Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Abdul Rahim Rather on Tuesday reviewed the progress of the new Legislature Complex being constructed in Jammu and directed officials to ensure its timely completion.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Secretary Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Achal Sethi; Engineer-in-Chief PWD Purshotam Kumar; Chief Engineer R&B Jammu Rajesh Kumar; Secretary Assembly Manoj Kumar Pandita; Director Finance PWD H.K. Prashar; Superintending Engineer R&B South Circle Jammu Arit Gupta, along with other officers from concerned departments.
A detailed review of the project was conducted, focusing on key components of the upcoming Assembly Complex such as the Central Hall, committee and meeting rooms, seating arrangements, library, and media facilities.
Officials informed that the Central Hall, considered a key feature of the Legislative Assembly, has been incorporated into the design. The complex will also include five committee and meeting rooms with seating capacities ranging from 50 to 100 members. Adequate space has been earmarked for both a library and a media room.
During the meeting, a comprehensive presentation on various phases of project execution was made by the Executive Engineer in charge.
After reviewing the progress, the Speaker stressed the importance of completing the project within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining high quality standards. He directed the executing agency to expedite work and ensure that deadlines are met.
