Pulwama: Javaid Iqbal Matoo on Monday visited Pulwama district and chaired a meeting to review the crime and security situation in the district.
The meeting was held at the Conference Hall of District Police Lines, Pulwama, and was attended by Tanushree, supervisory officers, station house officers and investigating officers.
During the meeting, the DIG reviewed the overall crime scenario, progress in investigation of cases, NDPS-related matters and preventive measures being taken by the police.
He also reviewed the prevailing security situation in the district, with special focus on counter-terrorism measures and strengthening the anti-terror grid.
Officials said emphasis was laid on improving coordination among security agencies, increasing area domination and strengthening intelligence networks to prevent activities by anti-national elements.
The DIG directed officers to maintain a high level of alertness and ensure prompt response to any security challenge.
He stressed the need for professional policing, public cooperation and proactive measures to maintain peace and stability in the district.
The DIG also directed officers to intensify action against drug trafficking and other criminal activities and ensure strict enforcement of law.
SSP Pulwama Tanushree briefed the meeting about the crime and security situation in the district and outlined the measures being taken to curb criminal activities and maintain law and order.
