Sakeena Itoo lays foundation stone for additional classrooms at Girls School in Kulgam

Kulgam: Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Education, Social Welfare and Health Sakeena Itoo on Saturday laid the foundation stone for an additional classroom block at Government Girls Middle School in Chambgund area of Kulgam.

Addressing a gathering on the occasion, Itoo said the construction of additional classrooms would help address space constraints, improve enrolment and provide a better learning environment for girl students, particularly in rural areas.

She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening education infrastructure and ensuring quality education in underserved regions.

The minister said the education sector remains a top priority of the government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and that sustained efforts are being made to upgrade school infrastructure, provide adequate teaching staff and promote inclusive education across Jammu and Kashmir.

“Regular investments in the education sector directly contribute to improved learning outcomes and empowerment of young girls,” she said.

Highlighting the government’s performance, Itoo said significant improvements had been made in various sectors, especially education and health.

On the sidelines of the function, the minister also interacted with local residents and heard their grievances.

She assured them that their genuine concerns would be addressed on priority.

The locals appreciated the minister’s efforts towards improving education and health infrastructure in Kulgam and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
