“Baisakhi also marks the historic foundation of the Khalsa Panth by the tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who empowered the people and the community. As we celebrate Baisakhi, let us recommit ourselves to Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s eternal teachings of righteousness, unity, devotion and selfless service to humanity. May this festival bring prosperity and joy to all in the year ahead.”

In his message, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that Baisakhi marks the harvest season and symbolizes prosperity, hope and new beginnings. He noted that the festival reflects the rich cultural diversity and communal harmony of Jammu and Kashmir, where people of different faiths celebrate each other’s traditions with mutual respect and enthusiasm.

The chief minister emphasized that such occasions strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and reinforce the values of unity and inclusiveness in society.

He expressed hope that the festival would bring peace, happiness and prosperity to every household and prayed for the well-being of the farming community, whose hard work sustains the region’s economy.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today paid rich tributes to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar on his birth anniversary, describing him as a visionary leader, social reformer, and the principal architect of the Indian Constitution.

In a message, the LG said: “On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, I extend my greetings and best wishes to all. Babasaheb stands as a transformative architect of India’s social and national ethos. A tireless advocate for the oppressed, he devoted his life to eradicate social and economic inequities. His enduring vision continues to illuminate paths of hope and inspiration. On this day, let us pledge unwavering commitment to his principles and build a united, just, and compassionate society rooted in mutual trust and brotherhood.”

In his message, the chief minister said that Dr. Ambedkar’s lifelong struggle for social justice, equality and the upliftment of marginalized sections continues to inspire generations. He highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s invaluable contribution in laying the foundation of a democratic and inclusive India based on the principles of liberty, equality and fraternity.

The chief minister called upon the people, especially the youth, to draw inspiration from Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals and work towards building a just and equitable society.

Reaffirming the government’s commitment to inclusive development, the chief minister said that the true tribute to Dr. Ambedkar lies in upholding his vision of social justice and ensuring equal opportunities for all.
