DIG South Kashmir reviews crime, UAPA cases in Anantnag

Anantnag: Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Kashmir Range, Javid Iqbal Matoo chaired a review meeting on crime and UAPA-related cases at the conference hall of the District Police Office in Anantnag on Sunday.

The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Anantnag Amod Ashok Nagpure, SP North Camp Aishmuqam Rameez Raja, SO to DIG SKR Syed Afaq, besides all SDPOs, DySPs and SHOs of the district.

During the meeting, DIG Matoo conducted a detailed review of the progress in investigations related to crime and cases registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

He stressed the need for expeditious disposal of cases, maintaining high standards of investigation and ensuring strict adherence to legal procedures.

The DIG also emphasised the importance of better coordination among field officers, proactive policing and intensified efforts to curb criminal and anti-national activities.

He directed officers to strengthen intelligence gathering and ensure timely follow-up in sensitive cases.

SSP Anantnag Amod Ashok Nagpure briefed the chair about the prevailing crime situation in the district and the progress achieved in the investigation of various cases.

The meeting concluded with directions to all officers to remain vigilant, professional and committed towards maintaining peace, security and the rule of law in the district.
