Sopore: Authorities on Monday ordered the suspension of class work at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Sopore, Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Sopore and Government Degree College (GDC) Sopore from April 15 to April 18 in view of the prevailing situation in the town.
According to officials, the institutions will remain closed up to Saturday and no class work will be held during the period.
“Class work of GHSS Sopore, BHSS Sopore and GDC Sopore shall remain suspended up to Saturday, i.e. from April 15 to April 18, in view of the prevailing situation,” an official order said.
The decision comes a day after the Directorate of School Education Kashmir suspended senior Urdu lecturer Ghulam Hassan Mir of GHSS Sopore pending an inquiry into his conduct and attached him to a school in remote Gurez.
Authorities, however, did not specify whether the closure of educational institutions was directly linked to the issue.
