As we spread awareness on this day about the importance of proper health care and nutrition for pregnant women and mothers, we also remember the sacrifices and responsibilities carried by women throughout their lives. National Safe Motherhood Day reminds us that motherhood means giving birth and also continuing care, patience, and strength. It is a day that encourages society to respect and support mothers, especially during pregnancy, when they need proper nutrition, medical attention, and emotional support.

When I discuss my mother, I remember how she always wakes up early in the morning, offers her prayers, and then starts cooking for the whole family. She began doing these things in her parents’ home when she first learned to cook. After marriage, she continued the same routine in her in-laws’ home. Day after day and year after year, she carries out these responsibilities with dedication. For her, these actions represent love and responsibility toward the family. Watching her perform these duties helped me understand how quietly mothers carry many responsibilities in their lives.

I share a very close bond with my mother. She always shares her thoughts and experiences with me. Because of this closeness, I often ask her questions about her life. One day, I asked her, “Mumma, have you ever felt exhausted doing these things your entire life?” She looked at me gently and replied, “Meri Jaan, no. It is my duty.” Her words were simple and meaningful. They reflected the deep sense of responsibility that mothers feel toward their families.

I continued the conversation and asked her another question. I said, “Mumma, when you were unwell, what did you do then?” She smiled and said that she had still completed her daily work throughout her life. Her smile carried a message of patience and strength. Mothers often continue their work even during difficult moments because the family depends on them.

Later, I asked her about emergencies. She answered with affection and said, “Meri Jaan, when you go to your in-laws’ home, you will learn these things. Life teaches how to manage everything.” Her words stayed in my mind for a long time. She was guiding me through her life experiences and teaching me the value of patience and responsibility.

As a female, I understand the struggles and pain experienced by my mother and many other women, who faced many challenges during different phases of life. Pregnancy and the menstrual cycle bring physical pain and emotional stress. These experiences require strength and patience. Even during these difficult moments, women continue to care for their families with love and dedication.

During pregnancy, a mother carries a new life within her for nine months. Her body goes through many changes during this time. She needs proper health care, balanced nutrition, and emotional support. After childbirth, another journey begins. Breastfeeding, sleepless nights, and constant care for the child become part of daily life. At the same time, mothers manage household responsibilities and care for every family member.

Mothers protect their children from cold and heat and remain concerned about their well-being. They give comfort, love, and guidance. Every small effort of a mother shapes the future of a child. Her presence creates a feeling of safety and warmth within the home.

This day, therefore, reminds society to value and respect mothers. National Safe Motherhood Day highlights the importance of maternal health and encourages families to provide proper care and support to mothers. Good nutrition, medical care, emotional understanding, and rest play an important role in the life of every mother.

In many families, women carry great strength and responsibility. Mothers, daughters, and sisters contribute continuously to the well-being of the family. Their health and happiness deserve equal attention. Families grow stronger when women receive proper care and respect.

Awareness about maternal health brings positive change in society. Families begin to understand the importance of regular health check-ups, nutritious food, and emotional support for pregnant women and mothers. Healthy mothers create healthy families, and healthy families build strong communities.

My message to everyone who reads this article is simple. Take care of the women in your life. Whether she is your mother, wife, daughter, or sister, she deserves love, respect, and care. Her efforts and sacrifices shape the happiness and stability.

More than 1400 years ago, Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) emphasized kindness, respect, and compassion toward women. His teachings guide humanity to treat women with dignity and care. These values remind us to appreciate the important role of mothers in our lives.

Let this day inspire everyone to show gratitude and care for mothers and women in society. Their strength, patience, and love create the foundation of every family and every community.
