Srinagar: A couple of public delegations today met Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari and apprised him of several pressing public issues and grievances, requesting him to use his influence to ensure these issues are addressed promptly.
According to a press release issued here, a delegation from South Kashmir’s Bijbehara met Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari and informed him about the continuous closure of tourist spots, including those located in Langanbal, Bijbehara and Srigufwara in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. They said that the prolonged closure of these and several other tourist destinations is adversely impacting the livelihood of hundreds of families who depend on tourism. Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari assured them that he would take up the issue at the highest levels of government and urge the prompt reopening of the closed tourist destinations in south Kashmir and other parts of the valley.
Apni Party’s Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir, General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir, and District President Anantnag Mufti Mohammad Sarwar were also present on this occasion.
Meanwhile, a delegation of members from the Pahari Forum also met Apni Party President to inform him about certain issues. The visiting delegation raised several issues that their community is facing. They demanded ST status for the entire Uri. Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari gave a patient hearing to the delegation members and assured them that he would raise the issues highlighted by them at the appropriate level in the administration.
