Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President Showkat Mir Friday said that the government led by Omar Abdullah has ushered in a new direction in governance and development across Jammu and Kashmir, with a strong focus on welfare-oriented policies and inclusive growth.

Highlighting key achievements, Mir said the government has prioritized the upgradation of infrastructure, expansion of healthcare services, and strengthening of the education sector to ensure long-term socio-economic progress.

He said that sustained efforts have been made to boost the tourism sector, which has significantly contributed to economic revival and employment generation across the region. “Under the leadership of Omar Sahib, governance has been people-centric, with a clear emphasis on welfare and development. From improving road connectivity to enhancing healthcare facilities and educational institutions, every sector has witnessed focused attention,” he said.

Mir further emphasized that initiatives aimed at job creation and youth empowerment have been central to the government’s agenda. “Special focus has been laid on creating employment opportunities for the youth through tourism, infrastructure projects and skill development programs, ensuring that growth reaches every household,” he added.

Reaffirming the party’s commitment to public welfare, he said that the government will continue to work with dedication to address people’s concerns and ensure equitable development across all regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
