Police attach three properties under NDPS ACT

Srinagar: Police have attached several properties in the south Kashmir districts under the anti-narcotics laws.

A police spokesperson informed that a property valued at ₹10,07,300 and belonging to Mohammad Ayoub Dar of Trenz Imamsahib Shopian was attached.

It said the property measuring 14 Marlas falling under Khewat Nos. 198 & 321 was identified as having been acquired through proceeds generated from the illegal trade of drugs and narcotics.

Separately, police attached a single story residential house falling under Khasra No.95 valued at ₹15,78,094 belonging to Mohammad Shafi Khanday of Thraina Kandi Keller.

In Anantnag also, police attached immovable and movable property belonging to a “notorious” drug peddler under the provisions of Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act.

The attached property includes one single-storeyed residential house and an I-20 Sports vehicle (JK03G-2416) with an approximate market value of ₹80 lakhs. The property belongs to Imran Ahmad Wani, son of Gulzar Ahmad Wani, a resident of Shalgam Srigufwara.

Police said that Wani is involved in case FIR No. 17/2021 registered at Police Station Srigufwara under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.

Police said all these attachments were carried out as part of sustained efforts to curb the menace of drug abuse and dismantle the infrastructure supporting illegal narcotics trade
