SSP Budgam holds introductory meeting with field officers

Budgam: Senior Superintendent of Police Budgam Hariprasad K on Wednesday chaired an introductory meeting with field police officers of the district at the District Police Office, Budgam.

During the meeting, the SSP asked officers to perform their duties with dedication, diligence and enthusiasm to effectively deal with emerging challenges and address issues faced by the public.

He stressed the need to maintain high standards of professional conduct and strengthen police-public relations. Hariprasad also directed officers to ensure the safety and security of minorities and other vulnerable sections of society.

The SSP laid emphasis on prompt investigation and timely disposal of cases in accordance with the timelines prescribed under the new criminal laws. He said special focus should be placed on tackling terrorism, drug-related offences and crimes against women.

The meeting also reviewed security preparedness in the district, including deployment coordination and adherence to established protocols, particularly for the safety of the general public, non-local labourers working in brick kilns and tourists visiting various destinations in Budgam.

Hariprasad directed officers to intensify efforts against drug abuse and work proactively to prevent social crimes, cybercrime and other societal evils.

He also instructed all officers to adopt a public-centric approach, remain accessible to the people and ensure prompt redressal of public grievances.
