The Chinar Corps, in line with the vision of the Northern Command chief, has been working to improve educational standards through its network of 28 Army Goodwill Schools operating across Kashmir. The schools focus not only on academics but also on science, innovation, sports and co-curricular activities.

Officials said that initiatives such as ‘Innofest’ and various inter-school competitions have helped identify talented students from across the region. The efforts of school management committees, principals and teachers have also brought national recognition to the institutions and their students through honours such as the ARISE Excellence Award, the Young Scientist Award, the ISRO International Astronomy Competition and the ISRO YUVIKA Award.

During the ceremony, Lt Gen Sharma felicitated Miss Faika Farheen of Army Goodwill School Butkot and Miss Fiza Fayaz of Army Goodwill School Bandipora for their innovative projects. The two students were recognised for their exceptional technical skills and for developing projects that have set a new benchmark for innovation among school students in Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials said the project developed by the two students has already been successfully implemented at the Badami Bagh Cantonment.

Mrs. Shinei Sharma also felicitated eight outstanding achievers from the 15 Corps Zone for their excellence in sports and academics. The awardees were praised for demonstrating how a supportive school environment can positively transform the educational ecosystem.

Senior officers and members of the Chinar Corps were present on the occasion along with teachers and parents of the students.

The event concluded with an interactive session between the chief guests and the students, teachers and parents. Speakers at the event said the interaction further inspired the participants and reinforced the commitment towards regional development and empowerment through education.
