DC Kulgam reviews major infrastructure projects, stresses timely completion

Kulgam: Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Shahzad Alam on Wednesday reviewed the progress of various ongoing construction projects in the district and directed the executing agencies to ensure their timely completion.

The review meeting was held at the DC Office, Kulgam, and was attended by officers from the Public Works Department, Mechanical Division, R&B Electric Division, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited, Jal Shakti Department and other concerned departments.

During the meeting, the DC reviewed the status of several key infrastructure projects, including transit accommodations at Mirhama, Chowgam and Vessu, the Sub-District Hospital Qaimoh, Government Degree College Frisal, Eklavya Model Residential School, the multipurpose sports hall at GDC Kilam, SDM Office D H Pora, Tehsil Office Pahloo, PHC Pahloo, solid waste management sites at Kulgam and Yaripora, the Material Recovery Facility at Kulgam, DDC quarters and the ADDC quarter at Lirrow.

Shahzad Alam reviewed both the physical and financial progress of each project and sought detailed updates from the concerned executing agencies regarding timelines, bottlenecks and the present status of works.

Emphasising the importance of these projects for strengthening public infrastructure in the district, the DC directed all executing agencies to speed up the pace of work and strictly adhere to the prescribed timelines.

He instructed officers to closely monitor progress on the ground and ensure that any issues hindering the execution of projects are resolved without delay.

The DC also stressed the need for better coordination among departments for smooth implementation of the projects aimed at improving infrastructure and service delivery across the district.

He further directed the concerned officers to submit updated progress reports regularly and ensure close monitoring so that all works are completed within the stipulated timeframe.
