Srinagar: Police on Monday said it arrested a suspected drug peddler and recovered 392 grams of contraband substance Pulwama, officials said.
The accused, Vikas Ahmad Lone, was apprehended at a checkpoint established at Circular Road near Gangoo Crossing, they said, adding that ‘charas chora-like substance’ weighing approximately 392 grams, concealed in a polythene bag, was recovered from his possession.
In Sopore, cannabis-like substance was recovered from the possession of Irfan Ahmad Bhat of Panzipora Tarzoo. He was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations for investigation.
