Soldier injured in sniper fire along LoC

Srinagar: An Army jawan died on Sunday after he was injured in accidental discharge of his service weapon in a camp in Kuwpara district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

The soldier was identified as Jagdeep (24). The incident occurred at the Army camp in the Qalamabad area of Kupwara district.

Jagdeep was rushed to a hospital in Handwara before being referred to 92 Base Hospital here in a critical condition. He, however, succumbed to his injuries, the officials said. (PTI)
