JKEDI organises Credit Linkage Meets for Startups under D-BRAP reforms

SRINAGAR: Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), through its District Startup Cells in Srinagar and Budgam, organised Credit Linkage Meets for startups under the District Business Reform Action Plan (D-BRAP) reforms, aimed at strengthening the startup ecosystem and facilitating access to finance.

At Srinagar, the JKEDI District Startup Cell conducted its first Credit Linkage Meet in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Bank. The primary objective of the programme was to facilitate credit linkage opportunities for startups and address the bottlenecks faced by them in accessing financial assistance.

Representatives from J&K Bank, Riyaz Ahmad Bhat, Financial Literacy & Credit Counselor and Shaista Muneer, Manager Advances, graced the occasion. They held an in-depth interaction with the participating startups, elaborating on various financial schemes offered by banks, explaining procedures for availing credit, and addressing key challenges faced by entrepreneurs in securing funding.

Speaking on the occasion, Shabir Hussain Shah, District Nodal Officer, Srinagar, provided a comprehensive overview of the D-BRAP reforms, highlighting initiatives aimed at strengthening the startup ecosystem in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

Meanwhile, JKEDI Budgam organized a Credit Facilitation Camp at ITI Budgam for startups registered with JKEDI as well as aspiring entrepreneurs. The programme focused on enhancing credit linkages and raising awareness about banking support systems available for startups.

The Lead District Manager Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Mohammad Muzaffar, graced the occasion and interacted extensively with participants. He elaborated on various banking schemes, explained the processes involved in availing credit, and addressed the bottlenecks encountered by startups in accessing financial assistance.

The programme also included an interactive knowledge-sharing session followed by a Q&A segment, allowing participants to directly engage with banking officials from the J&K Bank.

Speaking on the occasion, Syed Nazneen, District Nodal Officer, Budgam, presented a detailed overview of the D-BRAP activities being undertaken at the district level, emphasising JKEDI’s efforts to improve ease of doing business and facilitate the growth of startups in the region.

The sessions featured an interactive knowledge-sharing segment followed by a question-and-answer session, enabling participants to directly engage with banking officials and seek clarifications on their queries.

The initiatives reflect JKEDI’s continued commitment towards empowering entrepreneurs by improving access to finance and creating a conducive ecosystem for startup growth across Jammu & Kashmir.
