During the interaction, terror victim families shared the challenges they continue to face, including issues related to rehabilitation, financial assistance, and access to government schemes. They sought timely intervention and support from the administration to address their grievances.

Addressing the gathering, the DC expressed deep empathy with the victims and their families, stating that the administration stands firmly with them in their difficult journey. He assured that his office remains open and accessible to all the affected families and reiterated the administration’s commitment to ensuring their welfare and dignity.

Meanwhile, the DC appreciated the efforts of Save Youth Save Future Foundation, describing it as a beacon of hope and a significant movement working towards the rehabilitation and empowerment of terror victim families.

A key concern raised during the programme was the pendency of cases under relevant SRO provisions. The DC assured that all such pending cases would be examined and fast-tracked to ensure that deserving beneficiaries receive justice and rightful assistance.

To address specific grievances related to alleged land grabbing faced by some victim families, the DC announced the formation of a dedicated cell under the supervision of the ADC Baramulla, which will assess such cases and take appropriate action to safeguard the rights of the affected families.

For families dependent on terror victims whose applications under the SRO-43 are still under process, the DC assured that a special assistance programme will be initiated to support their basic needs, including medical care, education, and necessary financial assistance.

The DC stated that the district administration, under the guidance of LG, will provide necessary handholding support to ensure that the victims and their families are able to lead dignified lives.
