DIPR organises mega event at Kashmir Haat

SRINAGAR: In line with the ongoing action plan to commemorate the historic legacy of Vande Mataram and paying rich tributes to the martyrs of the nation on Shaheedi Diwas, the Joint Directorate of Information and Public Relations Kashmir today organised a mega event in collaboration with the Department of Handicrafts & Handloom Kashmir at the Conference Hall, Kashmir Haat.

The programme was attended by the Cultural Officer Kashmir, Burhan Hussain; Manager Kashmir Haat, along with officers and officials from the Department of Information and the Department of Handicrafts & Handloom.

Addressing the gathering, the Cultural Officer highlighted the historical significance of the national song, emphasizing its role in inspiring the freedom movement and instilling a sense of unity and patriotism among the masses. He elaborated on the objective of organizing the event as part of the government’s broader action plan, underscoring the importance of revisiting the legacy of sacrifice and courage demonstrated by the nation’s martyrs.

Paying tribute to the heroes of Shaheedi Diwas, including Sukhdev, Rajguru, and Bhagat Singh, he remarked that the national song symbolizes the collective voice of a nation that rose against oppression and fought for independence.

A mass singing of Vande Mataram was held on the occasion, with enthusiastic participation from all attendees, reaffirming the timeless message of unity, devotion, and national pride.

The event also featured the screening of a short documentary showcasing the historical journey of the National Song and its pivotal role in uniting people across the country during the freedom struggle.
