Jammu: J&K BJP held an important meeting of senior leaders to review and finalise preparations for the forthcoming Foundation Day programmes scheduled for April 6.
J&K BJP President and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Sat Sharma, accompanied by General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul, chaired the meeting at the party headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Former BJP President Ravinder Raina (in charge of Foundation Day programmes), General Secretaries Baldev Singh Billawaria and Gopal Mahajan, along with other senior leaders, were present in the meeting.
Sat Sharma, while addressing the meeting, said that the Foundation Day of the BJP, observed on April 6 every year, is a moment of pride for millions of party workers across the nation. He highlighted that the party, founded on April 6, 1980, has emerged as the world’s largest political organisation through its commitment to nation-building and public welfare.
Sharma emphasized that the programmes should be conducted with enthusiasm and dedication, reflecting the spirit of “Nation First” and the ideology of service to society. He further stated that the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strengthened the party’s connection with the masses through development-oriented governance and inclusive growth.
Ashok Koul elaborated on the detailed schedule of programmes to be organized across Jammu & Kashmir. He directed party leaders to ensure decoration of party offices from April 5 to 7, hoisting of the party flag at all offices, and organization of booth-level gatherings. He stressed that workers must actively participate in programmes such as “Gaon/Basti Chalo Abhiyan,” cleanliness drives, and outreach activities to highlight the achievements of the Modi government and strengthen grassroots connect. These activities are part of nationwide efforts where BJP workers engage in flag hoisting, outreach campaigns, and public programmes during Foundation Day celebrations, he said.
Ravinder Raina asked the senior leaders of the party to ensure maximum public participation in all programmes. He called for organising Sammelans at district levels, discussions on the party’s organisational growth, and awareness about government schemes among beneficiaries. He emphasised that the Foundation Day celebrations should also be used to honour senior party workers and intellectuals, thereby strengthening the party’s social outreach.
